The Walla Walla High School JROTC program had an outstanding weekend competing at the JROTC League Championships held at North Salem High School. Cadets represented their school with skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, earning multiple individual and team awards across a variety of events.
In drill competitions, several cadets placed near the top of their divisions. Noah Wohr captured 1st place in the Unarmed Drill Down, while Jamie West earned 3rd place in the Armed Drill Down. Damien Smiley also delivered a strong performance, finishing 2nd in the Senior Unarmed Drill Down. In exhibition drill events, Joseph Brown placed 3rd in Individual Armed Exhibition, and the duo of Aubry Graham and Ritchard Youngblood earned 1st place in Dual Unarmed Exhibition.
The Walla Walla Physical Training (PT) Team also had a strong showing, finishing 3rd place in the team competition.
The marksmanship teams delivered exceptional performances as well. The Air Rifle Precision Team took 1st place overall, with Claire Calvert earning the title of Individual Precision League Champion (1st place). The Sporter Air Rifle Team #1 finished 2nd place, and Wyatt Postlewait placed 3rd individually in Sporter Air Rifle.
Capping off the impressive weekend, Walla Walla High School earned 2nd place Overall League Champions. The program was also honored with the LTC Terry Welch Sportsmanship Award, awarded by unanimous vote, recognizing the cadets for their professionalism, teamwork, and positive representation throughout the competition.
