This week marks the end of the Mid-Columbia Conference regular season and the beginning of the MCC Championships and District 6 tournaments.
The WaHi fastpitch softball team opened the District 6 tournament on Monday, May 4, at Shadle Park High School. This was a play-in game for the district tournament. The Lady Blue Devils suffered a tough loss to the Highlanders, 15–14, on a walk-off double.
The WaHi baseball and boys soccer teams are in action today, May 7, as they begin their District 6 tournaments. The baseball team is also at Shadle Park High School for a play-in game to advance to the final eight teams. The boys soccer team hosts the Central Valley Bears tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Blue Devil Stadium. This first-round District 6 tournament match guarantees that the team will also host on Saturday. The District 6 3A soccer bracket is available on the WIAA website at BSOCscheduleLINK.
This is an MCC/GSL playoff event and admission will be charged. Tickets may be purchased in advance through GoFan or at the gate with cash or card. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, students, and military members. All WWHS students are admitted free with a school ID. Blue Devil Northwest will once again broadcast the match. The boys and girls tennis teams will be in the Tri-Cities this weekend for the MCC Championships, with berths to the District 6 tournament in Spokane on May 15–16 at stake.
The boys and girls golf teams will compete at Downriver Golf Course in Spokane on May 11–12 for the District 6 Golf Championships. The top six individuals and top three teams in each division will earn spots at the WIAA State Championships.
The WaHi track and field team will host the MCC Championship meet at Blue Devil Stadium on Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16. With the completion of the capital levy project last fall, this will be the first time Walla Walla has hosted this event.
