Head Coach: Jacob Butenhoff
This past weekend, our Blue Devil wrestlers showed incredible heart, determination, and resilience, earning 10 State Qualifiers for the Mat Classic XXXVI at the Tacoma Dome on February 20-21!
To be honest, this season has been a long and challenging journey—one filled with adversity that demanded passionate toughness from our athletes and unflinching & stubbornness support from our staff. Through it all, our wrestlers have demonstrated remarkable dedication and commitment, not just to themselves but to their Blue Devil family. In the past month alone, we’ve witnessed them take huge strides—growing physically, technically, and mentally in ways that have been truly inspiring.
One of the most impressive things about this group is their unwavering trust in the process. Their motivation has never been just about the outcome of a match, but rather about their continual growth—pushing themselves daily to become better versions of who they were the day before. As we geared our training this last month to promote peak performance, they stepped onto the mat fully committed, consistently putting together their best performances. While we saw their best wrestling this weekend, we know they’re still far from their peak. The best is yet to come!
A huge thank you to all of you who have supported our wrestlers this season. Your encouragement in the hallways, classrooms, and beyond has made a real difference. Let’s take a moment to celebrate these amazing student-athletes as they prepare to represent Wa-Hi at State!
